My daughter and son in law are not allowing me and her step father to see the baby anymore. She is 10 months now and we have done everything for them. My daughter has chronic fatigue and we are always there to help FINANCIALLY as well. My husband is a joker and has made joking comments over the years and months as he does with his own family. He said to my daughter maybe I can teach baby some Algerian cooking , maybe she will be a doctor or something nice when she is older if you encourage her in her education. Sometimes he calls me his wife whitey woman and I call him browny man as JOKE. HE SAID IT LOVINGLY TO MY GRANDDAUGHTER WHITEY GIRL AND SAID GRANNY IS GRUMPY.We helped my daughter and son in law to move house financially last week and now they sent a text to me from my son in law saying that we can not see the baby to take her out as they do not want my husband to see her as he is a bad influence. My husband is a practicing Muslim that loves to joke, only he did not know he was upsetting anyone. My son in law said I can come to their home and see the baby but not take her out. My daughter and son in law are both revert Muslims and have really hurted me. I am in the middle and at my wits end I did nothing wrong but I can’t take my grandchild out. No, it is not.

I see that many women pray with hands covered and sometimes not covered. I used to cover my hands until I read that there is a difference of opinion. Some say its an obligation while others say it is not. Can you please tell me what is the correct ruling? Should I cover my hands or should I not cover it?

The face and hands must not be covered while praying unless there is a fear that non Mahram might be looking.

Would I be sinful if I miss fajr salaah unintentionally, even if I had many alarms on? If I wake up and just to qada (pray it again before zuhr), would that be ok? Would I no longer be sinful ?

If you sleep earlier and you set the alarm and didn’t wake up, there is no sin on you. But you must pray immediately you wake up.

I am a student and I plan to have a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and I intend to use this in an islamic way in the future, for example painting names of Allah etc.. But the university has a few courses of sculpture art which might include making statues etc.. These are not to be worshiped or misused. it will only be for the purpose of learning.
