My question is: is it permissible to memorize some parts of the Qur’an by yourself and then go to a Hafiz to listen and correct your recitation without him teaching you in the first place?

This is permissible as long as you can do that correctly.

It’s custom in some countries to recite few verses of Holly Quaran before inaugurating any public meeting, projects etc ; Even in front of graveyard before starting dua’a by raising hands. Usually it’s common practice that an imam of local mosque leads these activities. Please throw some light in respect to Quaran and Sahih Hadith about this matter JK

can you tell me wat is meant by the hadith ‘there is blessings when one holds to surah albakara’? Does it mean to read it continuosly, if yes what is the frequency of reading it?

We know that surat Al Baqara has strong impact on jiins also it removes the black magic and evil eye if it was done. Reciting every now and then in the house is a great blessing but there isn’t any specified date for that. One can read it everyday if he wishes.

I read on islamqa that it isn’t allowed to recite with maqamat. It is a recent fatwa. They also have a fatwa of Bin Baz saying it isn’t allowed. However, many, if not the overwhelming majority of reciters I hear recite in these styles. For example Abu bakr shatri recites like the maqamat called Kurd. I am confused

One must not imitate such maqamat to the extent he feels like singing the Quran rather than reciting it.

This is similar to the way Jews pray and you shouldn’t do this.

Is it recommended to cover the head (hair) in the following situations: 1. While reciting quran and its sujood 2. Making dua and dikr. I heard if we did not cover the hair, angels will not be present while quran recitation. But i heard from huda tv that covering is not required. Pls make it clear for me sheikh. If i did not cover the hair am I sinful?

No, it is not recommended if there is not non mahram for both cases.

I know reading Quran is a great thing, but sometimes I read Quran and I feel bad. Why? Because I read Quran verses and hadith saying how people recite but they don’t ponder at all. Lately, I’ve been pondering over the Quran – not that much though. I love reciting certain surahs cause they sound beautiful. I also like to memorize Quran but I get thoughts and I remember about the verses and hadith of pondering the Quran. Sometimes I hinder my memorization because I feel like I’m being “excessive” and I should balance pondering Quran and memorizing. SO I feel like an idiot. Is it okay if I recite and memorize more than pondering? And is this from Shaytaan?

Is it a prerequisite for a woman to cover her full awrah while reading the Quran? What is the correct etiquette for reading the Quran at home and is there a different ruling for reading from the mushaf or from a tafseer.

A woman can read the Quran without having to wear hijab or to cover herself.

Sheikh last time I asked you about reciting sura Mulk when sleeping when am in my periods and you replied yes, I forgot to include recitation of sura kahf on a Friday while in the same state (menstruation), is this also permissible?

Yes, as long as you recite from the memory or from any device, and not from the mushaf.

Please I need clarifications with proves in order to enlight my people. 1) Is it permissible for a lady in her Jannaba(impure) period to touch the Qur’an? Most aalims are encouraging them to even hold and learn during those period. 2) Is it allowed for a person who came late in salaat to stand a row(saffu) by bringing someone from the first row to join him at the back???
