My sister in law is asking if she cannot afford to give zakat al mal of her assets like the gold she own. Can her husband pay for it?

ANSWER: Her husband is not obliged to pay it, however, if she authorizes him and he willingly accepts, this is permissible. Otherwise, she must sell some of it to pay her zakat.

Since my childhood i used to think that Islam doesnt honor women because of my fathers and his family’s behavior but later on this got cleared and this misunderstanding went soon after that i started getting waswas and i still get them this has affected my prayers and i didnt pray many of them.Was i never a muslim? Do i have to take a bath to become a believer and start praying?

Can i recite any other surah after reciting fatiha behind imam?

ANSWER: In loud Rakah, reciting other than the Fatiha is totally prohibited for the followers.

Shaikh, At the University I study in (in the west) there is a Muslim prayer space where the Muslim brothers and sisters pray their Salah with jamaat however I’m unsure whether this is regarded as a masjid. What constitutes a masjid? If muslims pray in a particular space can that be regarded as a masjid? And hence one should pray tahiyatul masjid when he goes there.

My brother lives in UK and he appointed someone in Hyderabad India for Udhiya. Eid salah in UK will be at a day earlier, can his animal be slaughtered in Hyderabad after my brother in UK offered his salah? (A day before eid in Hyderabad).

ANSWER: No problem. The udhiya (Sacrifice) can be offered during the four days of Eid (10, 11, 12 & 13) before the sunset of the 13th.

As we know, one should not cut hair and nails during first ten days in dhul hijja who are sacrificing animals. I am not sure my husband exactly when cut his nails. If he cut during first 10days of jil hajj, what should we do now as we are sacrificing animals on Eid ul azha.We forget that we should not cut our nails and hair. What to do now to accept our qurbani?

ANSWER: If a person cuts it deliberately he is sinful although this does not impact the validity of his sacrifice. There is nothing on you if you forgot.

Regarding the ruling for not cutting hair – does this ruling apply only for males ? Or does this apply on females as well For example, if my father is giving the udhya is he only the one who is NOT allowed to cut hair and nails? Are other female members of his family allowed to cut hair or wax ?

ANSWER: You must ignore and fight this wiswas as it is from the Shaytan who wants you to stop praying all together! If you didn’t hear a sound or detected an odor, your wudhu is valid! Make ruqyah on yourself until this goes away. What is Ruqyah and how one should do it?
