In canada health insurance is compulsory. I started a new job and they say by law you have to have extended medical coverage and i will pay monthly for it. And they are also offering short term disability and accidental and life insurance. They say i have to have it by law & the company will be paying for it. Is that permissible. Please help. I’d appreciate your input.

This is permissible as this is their condition and not yours.

I have heard that insurance esp life insurance is haram. If its true, why is it haram?

My wife is a qualified dentist but can’t practice in UAE because of licensing issues. Industry were she could get job is Health Insurance company. Is it halal to work there.

My family was involved in a motor vehicle accident, and as with law in Canada I order to drive a car you must have insurance. My kids were bruised up, my ribs and chest very hurt. Is compensation haram from the insurance company either from my husbands or the other insured driver? How much compensation are we to accept for our injuries?

You are entitled to be compensated for medical bills or repair of the car.

in my company benefits in UAE i recieve medical insurance as a benefit and if i dont take it i am obliged by the govt to take medical insurance. Plus i buy car insurance as its compulsory so is it peemissible for me to use this insurance?

When you are forced to do this by law and you would be a felony if you don’t do that, in this case it is permissible.

Please could you tell me if it’s permissable to take out insurance needed for a health care course that a person may be doing? It’s in the terms and conditions unfortunately.

If this course is needed and required and they insist on taking an insurance policy, this seems permissible.

Is it allowed to use the health insurance card which is provided by the company for its employees and their families as a part of the salary package?
