ANSWER: It is not permissible to take any insurance on your own as it involves two major sins: gambling and riba.

In UAE it is mandatory to take health insurance if you are resident here.and company cut a minimal amount per month to facilitate this service.my question is can I take insurance benefits.(eg.if medical expense is 10000 Dhs I have to pay only 10% of it)please note that I don’t know whether riba is involved or not.

I’ve watched all your videos on health insurance and I’m still confused. I had free health insurance before I was employed because of my low income but now that I’m working it will be cut. The company I work for doesn’t require me to have insurance but I want to purchase it because if I don’t there’s no way I can afford healthcare on my own. I do need it but I’m afraid that I will be sinning.

I recently got to know that my mother’s brother works in an insuarence company and I don’t think he knows its wrong. Is it mandatory for me to tell him that working there is wrong. My mother does a similar work but when i told her its wrong, she got angry. Now if I tell her brother, she would get even more upset and that would cause problems in the house.

Someone took out a haram mortgage 25 years ago and have repented for doing so. Is it permissible to claim back PPI which is a mortgage protection insurance which was an additional fee sold without knowledge to the buyer.

If they charged him for this insurance a certain amount, he can claim it and take his capital while giving the interest compiled to poor and needy Muslims as a form of cleansing his wealth.

Are we allowed to have insurance for example i am opening a shop and theirs insurance for the customers incase they get hurt is this allowed? As well as car or private health insurance?

I got a job in qatar and this company providing me medical insurance and credit card. I believe that these are haram in Islam but I have no option but to take them. Will I be sinful even if I dont use them?

If it (Medical Insurance)is done by the company then it is permissible. As for the credit card: If they are paying for it, this is permissible, but if you have to pay for it, you shouldn’t use it if it is interest based.
