My single mother is a non believer.she is very paranoid to b alone at home.we 3 daughters r settled with our husbands.my question is who should provide for her who should take care of her.she is working.i want her to quit work.worried for her.pls advise

All of you!

My kids are 22 and 20.they have habit of waking late and repeatedly miss fajr.after years of indiscpline, I now told them house rules are to awaken 7:00 everyday including weekends /holiday to establish some routine (they say fajr between them and Allah and i can’t say).I threaten to keep their phones when they dont wake at 7:00. but they say I don’t have right to discipline anymore.is it true?

If they are defiant and disrespectful like this, you may cut off their pocket money, take away their cars, not pay their mobile phone expenses so that they would adhere and respect you as a father. This is intolerable behavior and attitude from them.

I am living in the UK and we currently receive money from the government and they give each child money to support them but this money is not enough for us and my husband does not give us money -(which he also receives from the government and claims it is his own)- to support his own children or to give masruf. he has left us to do businesses abroad and refuses to give money to us .

It is his duty to provide for his family!

A brother asks, if his father stops him from leaving a beard or wearing trousers above ankles and he obeys him to avoid his anger, does it amount to shirk as he is following the commandment of his father than Allah(swt).

The son is sinful.

My husband’s brothers have slandered him and put some buhtan on him and also humiliated him in front of his children. Despite of all this, is it still compulsory on him to maintain kin? Or in this circumstance he can maintain distance from them due to their bad behavior with him.

He must honor kinship for the sake of Allah and not for him personally.

My father is not practising Shia. My granddad told my dad to transfer £1,000 to me as a gift. My dad later told me he is going to keep it aside for me as savings which is under his full control (I can’t take however much I like from it). I want to know what Islam says. Is the money my right? If so, should I claim this right or give it up? I am almost 24 years old Muslimah.

The money Is your and you can claim it with respect and while being dutiful. You don’t want to lose your father over 1000£!

Muslim parents who have not taught any Islamic teachings to their children. Fortunately by Allah,s rehmat children become very good and poise Muslims . Question is will parents also get reward for aakhirah as sadiqa from children,s good deeds.

It seems that they wouldn’t get any reward except what the children do for them or make Duaa for them.

I have firm belief that disobedience to parents leads to hell. I called u live asking abt going to eid fiest which is not segregated. My mom was telling me to go gradual with hijab. My parents didn’t call grandpa and when I asked mother to wear full length gown till the feet, my mother argued and had a big fight. What to do now?

You did your duty by advising them. Now, you take care of your own affairs and don’t join them.

I would like some advice on a family matter. My father is not speaking to my eldest sister over a matter that happened 15 years ago. Although in between that time he has spoke to her and when I asked why if he is upset with her, his words were because he needed her to do something, but he has now stopped talking to her. How can I help reunite them both together?

Give him advice and remind him of the hell fire that awaits her if he doesn’t forgive her and how Allah would forgive him if he does.

Can I eat separately with my wife in my room even though my father wants us to eat with him in the dining room?
