Sheikh, one of my family member doesn’t gives priority to Fajar salah. If we force to pray or ask to wake up for Fajar, he/she becomes angry and don’t like us forcing. How should we behave on this? Should we keep insisting/forcing or just say once and leave?

ANSWER: Once you wake them up and have advised them, you have done your duty and can move on. You can only force those whom you have control over such as your children and wife.

Why imam ahmed bin hanbal said that one who doesn’t pray witr is a bad person and his witness will not be accepted? Is there any thing backing up it? As far as i know Prophet said to a man who said i will only pray fard prayer not add or decrease any and Prophet said he is in jannah if he do so? So if prophet didn’t said such thing why imam ahmed said so..? Can you give any ayah or hadees…?

ANSWER: It was his opinion to emphasise the importance of Witr. We are not obliged to believe that especially when the Quran and Sunnah is not backing it up. Not praying Witr is not sinful as its not mandatory. You will lose a great deal of reward for skipping it but you’re not sinful.

During menses, there are times we change our clothes if we are going outside or wear an abaya, so is the cloth or the abaya required to be washed again thought no impurity was on the cloth or in the abaya. The cloth still touches the private part without getting stained or dirty, so will the cloth be also pure or should I wash it for the next use?

ANSWER: There’s no need to wash such clothes if there’s no impurity on them and you can also pray in such clothes.

If a person prays in masjid having smell of onion,garlic or cigarette in his mouth,will his salah be valid?

Is it from the sunnah to get up from the place to pray only when you see the imam even if the iqamah is given?

ANSWER: When you finish the second prostration and stand up for the following one.

Sheikh can husband and wife pray together in one prayer mat, if he is leading he should stand in front and wife should stand back. But if he is not leading then how should we stand.

ANSWER: If they are praying separately, each on their own then no problem if they stand next to each other.

Is it a major sin to pray 5 waqt fard salah alone at home?

ANSWER: It’s a major sin if the masjid is within your vicinity and you are able to go physically but choose not to pray in the masjid without a valid reason.

I’m a college student and in my college, there are very less muslims and majority are non-muslims, the ratio is 70:1. Even if there are some muslims but they don’t pray. I live in college hostel because it is far away from my home. My question is, I don’t want to leave prayer so how do I pray among non muslims? There is no place free to go and pray. If I pray among them, their hatred triggers.

ANSWER: If there is a threat to your religion and you cannot practice freely then you should not stay there and look for some other accommodation where you can pray on time without any barrier. Change your university or your accommodation.

My paternal uncle was leaving for a tour so I prayed my 10 raka’h of zuhur, took a break to meet him then prayed 2 raka’h afterwards. Is it appropriate to do ? I mean praying salah with breaks my mom says Shia pray like this , it should not be done , Pray complete SALAH at once.

ANSWER: No problem in this whatsoever as these are all separate prayers and one unit ends as soon as you give salam.
