Can I close my eyes while I’m praying? If I close my eyes during the salah, i can concentrate better.

ANSWER: This is not permissible as it is an innovation and not from the sunnah unless there is something in front of you that is distracting.

When I PRAY behind Imam, most often I cant match with the speed of Imam While saying TASHHAHUD(Attahiyat)specially on 2nd RAKATS or 2nd Sittig. I asked Imam about it one of them said its SUNNAT to Say TASHHAHUD while PRAYING in congregation and FARZ while PEAYING alone. Another 1 said its WAGIB in both case. Which 1 true and whats the solution?

ANSWER: Saying tashahhud is obligatory, You cannot skip that.

If I do not concentrate in nafl (not mandatory) prayer, will not I get any reward?

ANSWER: You will get some reward, but less than if it was with concentration. You must strive to refocus in order to gain khushoo.

What should I do when I enter Salah and Imam is in the last part of surah and he is about to go to ruku, should I recite begining dua or fateha?

ANSWER: If you can recite the fatiha, you should start with it. Otherwise, if he goes for ruku you should follow him.

My husband is kind and somewhat religious but is not so good with parenting. The most annoying thing is that he seldom wakes up for fajr prayer, but wakes up very early when he has work or exams. Now my kids are growing up, the oldest is 5 years. How do I teach my boys to pray on time and go to masjid daily since their father is unable to that?

ANSWER: You must advise your husband with good manners, wisdom, knowledge, and diplomacy to set a good example for his children. Teach your children how to pray and encourage them to ask their father to take them to the masjid when they are 7.

When should I supplicate b4 iqamah after azan just aftr azan or b4 starting my prayer in home as there r 20 mins b/w them.I used 2 answer azan then recite durood & prescribed dua after azan.Now I wanna supplicate 4 myself so how shud I do this? Shud i ask suplication & later i can ofer my prayer aftr 20 mins or when i start my prayer whatever the time it is I ask dua & start my prayer?

ANSWER: For women, they can supplicate after the athan until before their own prayer.

Is it true that for the sunnah of zuhr, asr and Isha you need to do 2 units of prayer and then say the salam, and then another 2 units of prayer and say the salam.

ANSWER: You should pray them in untits of 2. This is the opinion of the majority of the schools of thought. Isha doesn’t have a sunnah of 4 rakah but rather only 2.

Sheikh i enter masjid while second adhan was being given, and the imam started Arabic khuthah, so i didn’t got time to pray 2 nafil. So due to our prophet Hadith and to be not in those people to whom he prohibited to sit, so i just stand up while the khuthah and while the imam sat for break he waved me to sit and i sat down, my question is who was right.!?

ANSWER: Both of you were wrong! You should have prayed the 2 rakahs immediately and not stood up nor sat without praying these 2 rakah.

When I cough small drops of urine is released and I fear that this invalidates wudu. At the same time this is happening often to me what should I’d do?

ANSWER: You should pray it silently for 2 reasons; if this is your 3rd and 4th rakah which by default are silent and because you don’t want to annoy other worshipers who are reciting the Quran as well.
