When I learnt about moving the finger in Tashshahud, I started doing so diligently. Recently I heard, that once Rasul Allah ﷺ was praying and a jinn came to him, so he started moving his finger to drive him away…. So that was just one incident. Hence we shouldn’t move our finger! So which one is true now?

ANSWER: Such a story is baseless and not authentic.

A sheikh from the hanafi madhab told me if you have prayed a rakah before the sunrise the prayer is not in time until you have made the taslim before the sunrise. Is there this opinion? Are there differet opinions between the scholars?

ANSWER: This is not true. Whoever offers one Rakah before the end of time, his prayer is valid.

Is it true that it is sunnah to recite Surah Kafirun and Surah Ikhlas in the sunnah of maghrib salah?

ANSWER: Yes, this is authentic Sunnah and also in Fajr sunnah as well.

If some saliva comes onto my lips during prayer am I allowed to swallow that or does that invalidate my prayer (licking my lips with my tongue then swallowing the saliva which is on it) and what about fasting? Does that invalidate my fast?

ANSWER: No problem in this. It does not invalidate your fast or your prayer.

I wanted to ask are 2 Jummah prayers permissible in one mosque ? Here in UK Luton where I’m from. One is held at 1:15 and another 2:15. Is this permissible to do in one mosque?

While we conclude the prayer and give two salams I see some people stop in the middle for a split second and then continue to the second salam. What is the basis for this?

ANSWER: There’s no basis for this. This is not authentic to do.

Shaikh often we go out and sometimes we find a masjid where there is no women’s section to pray. Since my husband has to join in congregation, he leaves and parks his car in the direction of the qibla and I pray in the car. Is it okay to do that or my prayer is invalid?

ANSWER: This is not permissible. You must get out of the car and pray while standing and facing the qiblah.

Please can u pray Fajr whiles u are junub(on conditions like, it’s too cold to bath, scarcity of water, or Fajr is ready to commence i.e u woke up late)

ANSWER: This is not permissible except if you are unable to use water. Only then you can perform tayammum.

I live in the dorm.my roommate is hindu and she keeps an idol on her side of the room.are my prayers valid in the same room?

ANSWER: Yes, they are valid provided you do not face anything as such while in prayers. Try to cover it when praying and surely you must try and change your room and roommate if possible.

What should one do when sitting in the masjid and hears the athan. is saying “La illaha illa Allah” with congregation (in the end of athan) from the sunnah?

ANSWER: No. You repeat the athan individually after the Muazzin and then recite the prescribed dua after athan to be eligible for Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam’s intercession on the day of judgment.
