ANSWER: Not every one with debt can receive zakat. If I buy a mansion and a fancy sports car in installments, I am not legible for zakat. If your husband is poor or needy, you can give him from your zakat money. Otherwise, this is not permissible.

ANSWER: It is prohibited to take interest based loan from a bank. The gold and silver kept with the bank as mortgage is still zakatable.

I own a facebook group with many participants. I charge members to advertise on my group I charge them. Weekly, monthly. Is that permissible?

ANSWER: If what they are advertising is halal and without any music or women, this is permissible otherwise it’s not.

If I share an incident that happened between me & my mother in law, what she told me and how I felt about it. Would that be backbiting? if I share about her beliefs and practices she follows that’s not mentioned in quran or hadees is that backbiting? And if I say someone I don’t like certain dish she prepares is that backbiting?

ANSWER: Generally speaking, this is backbiting. But, if you tell about her ill treatment to someone to seek their genuine advice then this is not backbiting. However, telling someone about her bad cooking and something similar comes under backbiting which is prohibited.

Some money was being collected as Sadaqah for a brother. I committed to an amount to the one who was collecting, and he paid the amount to the brother (Money still with me).Later it was told to us that the brother is eligible for Zakah. Can I ‘change’ my intention to have this counted as Zakah from me, coz earlier I didn’t have this intention as we didn’t know.

ANSWER: No this is not permissible. You cannot change the intention now, intention should have been prior to commitment.

A maid comes for cleaning our house or sometms hr daughtr.She takes 2000/month for that.But this tim she didn’t come for atleast 13 days to clean because of the marriage of her eldst daughter.So,on completion of this month I gave her 1200 salary and asked her to come for 8-9 days more then I will give her remaining salary.Did I do wrong?she is poor I should have given her ful amount?What u think?

Ya Sheikh in Pakistan we eat a dish usually called “Haleem” made from different lentils. Our Scholars said bcz Haleem is the Name of Allah so it should called Daleem(urdu name of dish) but people argue that we have so many other names like Hakeem,Wakeel, Waris etc so we can’t change everything. So what’s the ruling specifically on a food dish name?
