Rasullah SAW sunnah is to fast on Mondays because he was born on Monday. If I was born on Wed, and fast on Weds too, is that an innovation? Thank you.

ANSWER: This is not permissible as it’s an innovation. The Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam also justified fasting on Monday because it was a day that he was revealed to in it. We can’t claim such a blessing.

Shall we shave or trim pubic hair? Trim is relatively easy to do, and can be done without cutting the skin whilst it is possible to cut the skin in shaving and in 0 scaling trim almost looks and feels like shave.

ANSWER: The sunnah is to shave the pubic hair and not to trim it. Armpit should be plucked and it can be shaved as well. Trimming it defies the purpose of removing it.

My question is that here in India, it is becoming very trendy to play multi-platform games (quiz) wherein no fee/money is given but it’s online and on winning the game (answering few questions of GK/Movies etc.), some money is awarded which is deposited in e-wallet. Same is with paid online surveys. Is this money halal?

ANSWER: Answering quizes on movies and haram stuff is not permissible.

When a child/baby sneezes, one who can’t speak yet , I’ve heard parents or others say alhamdulillah in their place. Maybe so that they learn early and inculcate the habit of saying it. But recently someone told me we should say yarhamukallah(may allah have mercy on you) and not alhamdulillah when they sneeze. Can you please advise

ANSWER: What you have heard is not correct. It is an innovation to say any of that on behalf of the child.

is it that we shouldn’t pray anything while the adhan is being called and just sit and listen? I have heard someone saying that even if we are praying voluntary prayers, we should stop and listen to the adhan.

ANSWER: What you have heard is absolutely wrong. No problem in doing other activities during athan including praying. The best however is to reply to the athan and recite the prescribed dua after it but this is not mandatory.

i was teached that salah of womens and mens are different and till now i have followed how they teached me but i got to know that there is no difference between both genders salah, i am feeling very odd in changing this, cause everyone around me have been praying differently from men…and if i will start to pray like men they will oppose me. ANSWER: You must not bother about what people will say, your intention and deeds must be to please Allah alone. It is not permissible to please people at the cost of displeasing Allah.

My question is that after my marriage, would my father in law be my Mahram? I know for a fact that my brother in laws would be non-mahram, but what about father in law? Can he see my hair?

ANSWER: The father in law is the permanent mahram. Even if his son divorces the woman or if the son dies then also the father in law is a permanent mahram for life for this woman.

There’s a concept among some people that food and water should not be left open even for half an hour or it should not even be kept open in one room and you are in another room because it will be possessed by satan and we should not eat and drink it. Please explain about the above.
