QUESTION: My parents, the other day has basically given me the ultimatum to choose between them or my husband. They want me to divorce my husband or they will disown me. ANSWER: Don’t pay any attention to what they say about your husband. Choose your husband and be good to him and Allah will hold your parents accountable on the day of judgment for their attempts to destroy your marriage like this!

ANSWER: No. He is not obliged to ask for her permission or to even tell her. However, it is part of being a good husband to tell her or inform her so that her mind would be at ease.

QUESTION: I have heard women asking for verses of Quran as their haq mahar. (sidaaqa in Arabic i guess) I wanted to ask if i can demand from my husband to be that ” You cannot neglect Salah intentionally at any cost plus you have to read the Quran daily with translation , even if it’s one verse” The only intention is to bring my life partner closer to Allah ( SWT) Is it legit to ask??

ANSWER: This is part of morning adhkar and you can recite it right after fajr time enters, so reciting it after sunnah of fajr is permissible.

ANSWER: No. You can fast any day you want for the sake of fasting and not for any other reason and then you can make as much dua as you want, especially before breaking the fast.
