I married 8 years ago and invited my husband to my country thru Immigration. Immigration replied that he is married with 4 children in his country. He presented a divorce document at our wedding and told me he had 1 child. Can I ask for divorce?

If he lied and you accepted him as a husband on the grounds that he wasn’t married, in this case you should file a case against him with the Islamic judge or from the Islamic center so that you can seek divorce on the grounds that he lied.

Does the following scenario count as 1 divorce or 2 divorce? i tell my wife that if she leaves me it will be a divorce, then she leaves me but she dont want divorce. after a few days i decide i will not divorce and wish to keep her . but i then told her over the phone that it is still a divorce and it’s over. i said this over the phone without the intention of divorce but to put her in the spot and test to see if she really want to come back to me. she did not know that i decided to keep her. until later.

Tearing the contract is not divorce. You are still married.

A sister was given divorce/talaaq through a text message to her which was sent to her and her father’s email. And when the father went to ask the man (i.e. his daughters husband) and his family about it they said the text message… …was true and the man (the girls husband) did not want to speak about it any further. Is this marriage now fully over? Are they Islamically divorced now? Will there need to be further actions taken?

If the man said clearly that he intended it, the divorce is valid and after the three menses, if he doesn’t reconcile with her, she can remarry again but it is highly recommended that the divorce is documented from the court or the Islamic center.

Can a woman place this condition at nikah, that she will take full custody of the children in case of divorce and allow their father to visit them only after her permission, and in return she exempts him from bearing their expenses in any way?
