QUESTION: Would a marriage still be valid if a husband and wife sleep in separate rooms due to not getting along for numerous years. The wife gave permission for him to remarry but he refuses and wants to be a father for his 5 grown children. They have agreed to be civil and not divorce for children’s sake. Is this allowed?

QUESTION: In my masjid, the congregation prays on a carpet, but the imam prays on a prayer mat placed over the carpet and then another prayer mat on top of that, which raises it slightly. Is this practice considered an innovation (bid’ah) in Islam?

QUESTION: Can Muslims study ayurvedic system of medicine? They teach that ayurveda originated from brahma & then the knowledge had been passed to the humans through other gods,there are some other things which they relate to their gods. I skip those parts. ANSWER: It is permissible to study medicine that is based on science and that would benefit others. However, if such studies are based on gods and kufr and it is not scientific, you must not continue in such a field as it has no benefit to it.

QUESTION: I live in Singapore. Housing is EXPENSIVE. Govt. forcefully takes 20% of salary for housing/medical. MAJORITY of ppl can’t afford to buy/rent with their salary. Is it feasible for all these ppl to remain unmarried to avoid mortgage? This is a real issue we face. I am not asking for an easy way out, but a solution for Muslims living here.

QUESTION: At school, I used a metallic ruler and rub it against the table very fast and then press it against my friends to give them a burning sensation on their skin. These burns would sometimes leave marks on their skin as well. QUESTION: I live in Bangladesh.We Bengali people often say ‘ma’ (means mother ) when something unusual happens.For example if we get hurt.
