ANSWER:

He has no right in getting upset, none whatsoever! This is something between you & your family, he has no say in this! As I mentioned before, no husband would do such a thing and behave in such a fashion unless he has an eye on his wife’s wealth. His wife is usually following him like a pet and obeying him in everything as many women give their financials to their husbands unconditionally and end up depleting their wealth and losing it all while the husband benefit from it and marries a second wife with it and builds a house in his name with her money, leaving her without a penny and without a family to fall back on because she burnt all bridges between her and them, following her husband’s orders! She must not sever her kinship with her family nor obey him in that, whether he likes it or not! She must also stop giving him access to any of her financials and he must not know how much she has in her bank account!

QUESTION: To follow up my previous question, my father passed away 2 years ago, dividing his property between me and my siblings. My husband calculated my share under Sharia law and felt I got less. My mother and siblings insist it’s correct and refused to give more. Upset, my husband became estranged from them and forbids me from meeting them. What should I do?
