I got a thought [in that thought I was complaining about a problem to my friend that I don’t hesitate to commit kufr] that thought ended right there. Few minutes I was too shocked to think such thoughts, however I did not say anything in reality, it was just a thought that DID NOT SETTLE IN MY HEART. Was this apostasy?

No, if it was by mistake.

I understand joining the kafir forces like Britain, America is haram. However the pakistani goverment is sending a handful of troops to train with the British SAS (Special forces) so they can come back and create a new Special forces unit in pakistan for the muslims inlight of the recent attacks on school etc. Is this co-operation halal if not I shall advise inshallah?

This training is not to pledge allegiance and it is not to fight by their sides. It is to learn from them and to train Muslims how to fight. Therefore, it is permissible.

Is it a must a child with kuffar parents who wants to accept Islam to bath janaba and then say kalima shahada? Are they all required? And among the ghusl for janaba and shahada which is important for the child to perform to be a muslim?

After he has declared shahada, he is a muslim. After that he should have ghusl and also be circumcised if he is a male.

If my parents ask me to help them get food which I am not sure is halal (and which I think probably isn’t halal), is it permissible for me to disobey them?

If there is no reason to believe that it’s haraam then you can get it. You can inquire about it’s provenance. If there is reason to suspect it then you should disobey them but be very diplomatic with them.

My wife got to know a practising convert sister who wants to marry. Can I recommend a friend of mine who is a convert but doesn’t have a beard? He knows and he says that beard is mandatory but he cannot keep it because he has few strands of hair and it is not suitable for his face.

If he is practicing and in her same level or better than her, this is permissible.

Without any doubt it is confirmed that Allah is above his throne. But some people now raise this question and this can bring doubt in other peoples mind.. They say if Allah is above his throne does this mean the higher you go the closer you come to Allah. So if you r in higher building your much closer to Allah than someone on the lower building.

This is trivial as one would think that taking a drop of an ocean would affect it! Such distances are nothing compared to Allah the Exalted.

My brother is a businessman, he has huge debt to bank and person. His economic condition is very bad now. Bank submitted case against him and he is now into jail. I would like to know that can brother’s wife give zakah to her husband and sadaqa which she use to give outside?

This is permissible.

Actually I am a medical student and we have to give our test in wards so we have to sit with the patients. We don’t get any break. My question is can we pray in naqab if there are non mahram around us? And if we have bench available only and the floor isn’t clean, then can we sit and pray on the bench?!

You should find a place to pray that is secluded, and mustn’t pray in public unless as a necessity. In this case, you can keep your face covered and you can pray on any ground whether clean or dirty as long as there is no najasah or impurity that prevents prayer.

My mother and I are thinking about going to Pakistan because my Grandfather is very ill. My mother wears the niqaab and I wear the hijab. My father will be dropping us off at one airport from which we will depart and my uncle will be picking us up in another when we arrive at our destination, in shaa Allah. Is this permissible to do so?

This is not permissible.

Am I correct in saying that one definition of bidah is: Any act of worship that is restricted when there is no proof in Quran or Sunnah for that restriction or specification. Eg if a person raises their hands for dua after salah occasionally, this is fine but to believe it has to be done after each salah or it is better if it is done after salah is bidah.

This is partly correct. It is any act which a person wants to get closer to Allah with and the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa salla. Didn’t do it nor instructed us to do it.
