QUESTION: I work for a company. My job is to convince people to invest in shares. There are lots of different shares, halal and haram. I let them choose a few of these shares. I encourage them to invest in halal shares but as i am in the west, they sometimes choose haram ones. And after they invest, i get money from my company. And i dont get money depending which share. Always same amount.Is it halal?

ANSWER: The money in which you facilitate and collaborate with them in sin is haram. You should not work in such a field as the vast majority of companies work with riba financing and depositing.

QUESTION: I’m from India in my college every one has to wear white dress code as pre onam celebration but my father refused to buy for me because he said we should not do so. Eventhough I said him it’s like not celebrating onam it’s just to look similar when everyone wear same dress code. Please Give me an advice

ANSWER: It is not permissible to imitate them on such an event by wearing white like they are doing so as everyone would think that you are a Hindu celebrating that festival with the Hindus

QUESTION: As a non inhabitant of Makkah, when I want to perform Umra can I stay for a night in Makkah when I just arrived in the city then on the next day I take miqat of Ahlul Makkah to do ihram? Or is it obligatory upon me to make niyya since my departure from my home country and perform ihram from the assigned miqat of my country and immediately perform Umra as I arrive in Makkah?

ANSWER: This is not permissible, its only permissible if you have already made your umrah and you want to perform another umrah! You must go back to your miqat and assume ihram from there to make your first umrah of the trip.

QUESTION: I work in a school, I am in full hijab (not niqab and I do not wear makeup). I spend 90% of my time with children and the other time is made up of meetings and sometimes teachers may enter my office if the have concern for a student. I do not initiate conversation with any male staff, at most I may say good morning or return a good morning or Salaam. My family is dependent Is my work halaal?

ANSWER: If you teach a halal subject and teach only girls or boys under the age of 10 and do not free mix with men and are abiding by the proper Islamic hijab then your job is halal.

ANSWER: Entering paradise is in Allah’s hands! If you commit sins regularly, you should be punished for them and tormented for your sins. Whether Allah will forgive you or not, this is only in His hands. It is in your hands whether you sin or stop sinning

QUESTION: Is it permissible to let my uncle’s wife use my arm to help her walk since she is very old?

ANSWER: No, this is not permissible as she’s a non mahram to you and Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said its better for you to be stabbed in the head by a metal needle than to touch a non mahram!
