It’s not permissible for your maternal uncle to be the wali!

Your father is her wali and its mandatory for him to give his consent to the marriage otherwise the marriage would be invalid.

QUESTION: My sister is going to get married soon insha Allah, we do not live with our father therefore my maternal uncle which is sibling of my mother is searching for the guy and is planing to be the wali. can he be the wali or should i or my brother become the wali for our sister?
