Usually when I return home from work its almost maghrib time and after staying sometime at home I leave for Masjid. However, my kids are really cranky at that time and my wife wants me to support her with house chores and kids and pray at home as she is pregnant too. So, is it permissible in this case to pray at home while helping wife and kids.

This is not permissible. You have to pray in the masjid and go back home to give her a hand. It is only few minutes that you spend in praying.

Sheikh, can you please advise if there is a hadith which stops women from going out during maghrib. There is a hadith for children I know. Also sometimes its just maghrib and you want to have a shower before you pray. Is that permissible. My husband seems to think we can’t so I want to clarify.

The hadeeth refers only to preventing children from going out between Maghreb and Isha unattended. There is nothing wrong in taking a shower any time of the day or night.

My doctor gave me Dianette pills to take for my skin to get better, I took it for a week then had to stop because of breathing problems. I’ve stopped the pill, but now I am bleeding- the bleed is quite thick and something like menses, but I started my menses 2 weeks ago. Sheikh shall I continue praying?

This seems to be your menses and you should refrain from praying.

This is authentic.

Some people write an abbreviated version of the salaams, which is similar to “seen-raa’-baa'” in ‘Arabic. They write “ws wr wb” in English. What is the ruling on this?

Is it compulsory for a mature Muslim to perform the ghusl on Friday’s ? What if a lady is menstruating on that day?

Friday ghusul is an issue of dispute among scholars. Women are not obliged to do it as they are not obliged to attend the prayer. The most authentic opinion is that it is recommended for men but not obligatory.

I have absolutely no knowledge even though I was born a Muslim. 2 years ago, I started to practice my religion with the Grace of Allah Azowajal. I stopped the biddah I was doing, started wearing hijab + abaya, took down pics in my house, stopped certain haram things I was doing.. What category is a person who does Amal without any knowledge?

The money earned while not knowing that it is prohibited can be used. If you knew it was haram, you can only use what is necessary for you.

My mother slapped me and kicked me out of her house because I did not want a gift she and my sister bought me for my birthday as I previously told them I did not want to celebrate it as it was haram and instead If they insist to give me money to give to charity. Please advise

You were wrong in what you had done! Celebrating it is prohibited but accepting a gift is permissible. Apologize to your mother and be dutiful to her and don’t upset her.

I feel yearning to meet Allah. For the first time in my life i am looking forward to death even though i know I haven’t done enough good deeds. Please shed light on how I am feeling.

You cannot withdraw yourself from Dunya and wish for death, this is not permissible. Strive hard to be the best in worshiping Allah and the best in your field in this life as this is the balance required by a Muslim.
