I know an Islamic scholar who died recently and during his life he propagated things which would clearly account to Shirk and Biddah (like in one video, he claimed Sheikh Abdul Qader Jeelani could give life back to the dead). Can we make du’a for him or people like him. I know that Allah alone will judge him and the state in which he died, but is is allowed for us to make dua for him?

Such a person is a mushrik and one can’t make Duaa for him.

If there is a stain of impurity on the clothes and you throw it in the washing machine but afterwards the stain is still visible. Can you pray in it or do you have to wash it again with hands or something else? (or is this obsessive)?

Purity

The color left over after washing the impurity doesn’t affect it. For example, after washing the stain of menses, the color may not go all of it but the piece of cloth is considered pure after washing it.

Can you kindly answer for myself and some family/friends if it permissable to gather on Christmas day to eat together. The purpose of the gathering is friends and family feel holidays are the only time to see each other and spend quality time together. I personally don’t take part in this.

If they are Muslims and they gather only because they are all off from work and school and they don’t celebrate Christmas but only gather as a family or friends, this is permissible.

Is any particular duration preferred for the distribution of the inheritance after death – 3 days, 40 days etc?

There is no specific time. The inheritance must be divided immediately after settling all debts.

I feel my husband is cheating on me. He is not ready to admit it. He told me a lie and spent a night somewhere else. Should I spy and find out the real truth or leave it to Allah?

Spying is not permissible and by keeping him under pressure, he will continue to lie and avoid being with you. Don’t let whispers and doubts destroy your marriage.

A bed-ridden husband called up his mother-in-law and informed her that he is divorcing his wife. The wife was sitting right in front of the husband. When the mother-in-law told the husband that maybe he was just angry, the husband replied, “No, I am not. And this is my first divorce and the other 2 would follow.” Is it mandatory for this husband to have 2 witnesses if he wants to take her back or can they live together without the husband taking her back verbally?

If he wants to bring her back he has to verbally say that to her and it is highly recommended to tell two witnesses of this.

Sufi is a deviant sect,that goes against the Sunnah.

A woman is forced to work. Is it allowed for her to move from the home where she lives with her parents to another city (60 km away from home) and work there and live alone (without mahram)?

If she is working in a segregated area with zero contact with men and her mahram drives her there and it is safe for her, this is permissible. Otherwise,it is prohibited.

I prayed jummah in the wudu area because the mosque was full. In the wudu area, there is a door which leads to the toilet, can we pray in the wudu area if there is a door which leads to the toilet?

As long as it is not the toilet, this is permissible.

If a man after emitting madhi, washes his penis and does wudoo but forgets to wash his testicles and remembers that he didn’t wash his testicles only after finishing a fard salaah, will he have to repeat that salaah?
