I live in Pakistan where the Fajr and Asr prayer are held at the `last-time’ in most mosques which is around 6 while back in gulf they used at the `first-time’ which would be around 4 pm. But mosques from our home is far and we have good number of people at home so we all do congregation in every prayer. So, can we pray at the earlier time in congregation while being at home?

Yes, you should do that.

Shaykh. If a man covers his awrah with loose pajamas but indentation of the hips can be seen, is his prayer valid?

The prayer is valid. Men’s awrah is not the same like women’s awrah.

If I go to another town which is quite far from my home to play football , and during Maghrib I am playing football, am I allowed to join Maghrib and isha when I reach back home ?

Prayer

If you had travelled to another town which people consider it as traveling, you can combine Maghreb to Isha but this reason for delaying Maghreb is not a legitimate reason especially if there are Muslims who would miss the prayer as well or there is a masjid near by.

What is the ruling behind reading fiction storybooks and story books involving stories related to sihr? Like the harry potter series. I know of a lot of people who are crazy about reading and spend alot of their time reading books. Can you please highlight it with your knowledge?

This is not permissible as it involves shirk, sorcery and bringing people from the dead including mixing and music.

Sheikh. My friends and I are going to start a blog in shaa Allaah for the youth of our community to change for the better. We are going to talk about our personal experiences. I want to write about why I quit listening to rap music. Some people knew I had a background in this while others don’t. Should I write this article using my own name or a pen name so as not to reveal?

This is not permissible as it would be exposing the sins that Allah had concealed.

This question is on behalf of my grandparents. They came on a visit visa to Saudi Arabia. They wore their ihraam 2 days after reaching Jeddah when they were going for Umrah. They want to know if it was compulsory for them to wear ihraam when they started their journey. If yes, what is the expiation for this?

Hajj and Umrah

They should have worn it from the meeqat and not from Jeddah as they had the intention to perform Umrah before Coming. They must slaughter a ram each, in Makkah and give it to the poor there.

Is it correct to combine the intention for ‘Fasting the three days of expiatory fast’ with the ‘weekly fast – fasting the Mondays and Thursdays’.

Fasting

06 Aug

This is permissible.
