QUESTION: Sheikh, we want to arrange our waliemah among close family members in a restaurant. We managed to get a restaurant that has seperate rooms for males and females. However, the working staff, who will serve the food, will be mixed. I.e., it is possible that a male staff might have to serve the food in the womens section. Is this allowed?

ANSWER: This is not permissible as the male waiters would be able to see women!

ANSWER: As long as you forgave him, Allah will not question him about that but if what he did was sinful and he disobeyed Allah while doing so and he did not repent, Allah will punish him for that as this sin now is between him and Allah

QUESTION: Can i divide a long surah in salah? I know it’s sunnah and not obligatory to recite a surah after fatiha, but I love reciting long surah. So, for example, I am reciting surah Rahman (which has 78 ayahs) in Fajar fard Prayer. Can I recite half in one rakah and other half in second rakah?

ANSWER: 1. No problem Even if you don’t intend, she will get the reward if she was the one who taught you to read the Quran or do good deeds.

QUESTION: 5 years ago I wasnt practicing Islam and there was an incident where I sold a car to a dealer and I told him about all its information,also about one large scratch on the doors,which he didn’t see before, but I didn’t mention that the car was making a certain noise sometimes when driving. He never got back to me, but I feel bad, because of not saying something. Am I sinful/what is the ruling here?

ANSWER: If such defects are something you would not want to find in your car and you would feel cheated if the owner concealed it and did not tell you about it, this is cheating and haram money.

ANSWER: No problem in eating halal food given to you, without you participating in their kufr gatherings or celebrations nor is it permissible to greet them back, you can simply say thank you.

QUESTION: My son loved a girl and wanted to marry her. As a mother, I agreed at first because I wanted his happiness. Later, I learned the girl planned to hide their relationship from her parents to make it seem like an arranged marriage.I disagreed with that, & since then, my son has spoken harshly, blaming me for ruining his life. ANSWER: If you wanted her to expose their relationship to her parents before proposing, this is prohibited and immodest! Who in his right mind would tell a girl to expose herself like this to her parents? Allah has concealed their sin and you want to expose it?

QUESTION: Sheikh, is it from Islam or a form of sadaqah to take meat of chicken and swirl it around a person 3 times and throw it out so “balayen” i think evil things? will leave that person?
