There is a brother who has asked for my hand in marriage. I am considering to ask him to memorize a surah as part of my mahr or as a condition of marriage. He agreed. Am I allowed to do this? And if so do you have any suggestion of any surah. I’ve read Surah An-Noor, An-Nisa and Al-Maidah are surahs that were adviced to learn by the salaf in different occasions.

ANSWER: Mahr should be paid in money, gold or land, plot or anything material so that if you were to opt for khulu in the future, you can compensate him by returning to him what he had given.

Dua while entering house: I have seen your video regarding the subject mentioned. I need a clarification as I heard that along saying salam we should read darood and surah ikhlas too.Please clarify.

Innovations

ANSWER: This is not from the sunnah and it is an innovation.

Sheikh! What’s ur opinion on hanging the frames which have “Allah”, “Allah’s beautiful names”, “Muhammad(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)”, “Masha Allah”, “Assalamu alaikum” and such things written on them? Is it permissible to hang such kinda frames as decorations?

ANSWER: The best sacrifice is a camel, then a cow, if one offers the whole animal, then a sheep, then a goat, then one-seventh of a camel, then one-seventh of a cow.

In Islam teaching it’s said that if we do bad deeds or sin Allah will decrease or punish us yet I saw many people that clearly doing those wrong things be it muslim or nonmuslim and luckyly they maybe saved and not punished at all, why is like that ?

ANSWER: You don’t know what goes in their lives. A lot of them are being punished without you noticing it. Those who are not punished in this life, Allah saves their punishment for the hereafter, which is the worst kind of punishment for anyone.

During friday qutbah, we are not allowed to say a word but are we allowed to say ṣallā Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-ʿala āli-hi wa-sallam for Muhammad.

My mom is forcing me to get married to someone I don’t like. She’s worried that I wont get a boy in future and just because of that, it’s illogical to get married to any guy that comes across. I’m 25.But I dont like the guy she’s been showing me. How to make her understand that it’s Allahs will, when he wants I’ll get married.
