Please verify some people show some hadith in which Prophet S.A.W asked a man to give the Surah of a Quran in Mehr to his will-be-wife. So many people/girls by this hadith ask their respective spouse to give them 5 Salah, self hand written Quran, demand 1 surah of Quran to hifz etc as Mehr. I want to know all these forms of Mehr Permissible in Islam other than money?

ANSWER: Reciting surah is no mahr. It must be an item given to the wife; cash, car, apartment / house, etc. Only if he doesn’t possess anything at all, not even an extra shirt, then he may teach his wife a portion of the Quran as Mahar.

I didn’t fast this Ramadan because I’m on medication for Tuberculosis. is it considered as fardh for a mother to do any work related to the kids- for example taking them to the doctor appointment.
