My mum uses a coin for example: 50p,5p,10p and then she gets a coin and makes it go round and round above my head 7 times or something and she says that it’s sadaqah. And once she also got lentils and commanded me to touch it and she said it’s for sadaqah.And I think then she put the lentils near the tree or something so the insects can eat it. Is this in Islam?

ANSWER: No soul shall bear the weight of another’s sins. His children will not be affected by any of his wrongdoings. You must serve, honor and be respectful towards him despite whatever he has done as he is your middle gate to Paradise while anticipating your reward from Allah alone.

We have been hearing that the 10th of Muharram is a very significant day according to Islamic calendar. It said that many incidents took place on the 10th- around 13 events + many more. But never heard of any authentic references either from the Qur’an or Hadith. Please shed some light on this subject.

I am studying tafseer and recently Allah has showed me my reality.. I have serious issues of nifaq in terms of love of dunya, greed, jealousy and other evil things in my heart. I am feeling overwhelmed and discouraged not sure how to get rid of this great evil apart from dua. Please advise.

ANSWER: It is human nature to love worldly things. If you don’t pray on time and you indulge in sins, you are in great danger. But if you fulfill your obligations and abstain from sins, you are on the right track. Fearing hypocrisy is a sign of Iman and this is a positive sign.

In sub continents most of the elders warn us that when we chop the nails we must be very careful so as the nails do not get scattered and left on the floor un attended as they believe that it effects the barakah of the house. So what is the ruling on this in islam.
