QUESTION: I’m always sensible,when people around me talk about non-present peopl Question: negativly, even if it’s not directly an insult or with bad intentions. I think everything could possibly hurt the feelings of the one who is talked about. It’s like OCD & difficult for me when I meet with friends&family. There are nearly always people who talk about others shortcomings etc.. Even though everytime I say “change the topic, don’t use negativ words”. Am I always sinful & must go away?

ANSWER: If they are backbiting, you must change the topic (no need to ask them to change the topic) and if they insist even after this, then you should leave the place.

QUESTION: If a person makes vow about praying tahajjud every week for a certain amount, but then he couldn’t persist on it and doesn’t want to be binding to it, is offering expiation enough for him to be out of it or he has to do it for rest of his life?

ANSWER: He has to do it to the rest of his life as this is an act of worship which he had vowed upon himself. He can’t leave it unless he is unable to do it due to medical reasons or the likes.

QUESTION: There’s a dua that if we see someone in difficulty and says that we will never suffer from same difficulty “Alahmadulilah hilazi aafni mimabtalaqa bihi wafadalani ala kaseerin miman khalaqa tafdeela “ is this also applies seeing someone in difficulty on social media?

QUESTION: If someone owns a kitchen device like a fridge and the symbol of the brand contains a symbol of shirk/kufr like a cross and the symbol is on the thing, is it enough to use glue and stick something over the symbol to keep using the fridge?

ANSWER: If you are praying eid out in the open, they are right. But if you are praying the eid prayer in a masjid, its mandatory to pray before sitting down.

QUESTION: Sheikh my sister abused me and continues to do so everytime we’re in contact. I become a different person around her. But because of my duty and insistence from my parents, I kept a distance but maintained contact. However she is incapable of having a relationship with boundaries; it’s all or nothing. Do I have the right to cut her off in this instance?

ANSWER: It is not permissible to sever ties as this is a major sin in Islam. No problem in limiting contact and keeping healthy boundaries while checking up on her often.

QUESTION: In Tawheed Rububiyah, it says Allah is the only one who can create, take away a person’s soul at death, etc. But we know that Allah empowers the angel of death to take away the soul at death. So I was wondering, does Allah also empower angels to do tasks like creation, sovereignty, control, or other tasks which are unqiue to Him? Also am I kafir for not knowing the answer to this question?

ANSWER: Allah may delegate tasks such as taking souls out or rain fall to some of His angels as to carry things with His command and enabling them to do such tasks. Creation can only be done by Allah which is creating things from nothing.

QUESTION: During Arafat fast suhoor I ate food while adhan was going on till end of it. Is my fast valid or should i repeat it another day to get reward

ANSWER: The fast is invalid and you cannot repeat it for the reward as Arafat is gone.
