QUESTION: I stay in an area where majority of Muslims are of Ibadi sect. All mosques around my house have Ibadi imams. There is an Egyptian mosque but it’s far from where I stay. I take my family there on Friday’s only. It is difficult to pray 5 times there due to distance. Is it better for me to pray at home or go to nearby Ibadi mosque for 5 daily prayers?

ANSWER: Pray at home as its not permissible to pray behind an ibadi imam.

QUESTION: If I backbit about someone and repented sincerely and never backbit again, and are too shameful to go up to them as I don’t want to cause problems, On the day of judgement will my good deeds still go to that person and I take their bad deeds even if Allah has forgiven me?

ANSWER: Allah is the Most Merciful and only He knows. In shaa Allah He will forgive you. Keep thinking positive, showing remorse and asking Him for forgiveness.

QUESTION: Is it permissible to exchange coins to paper money from the same currency and pay the bank 7 Euros as an exchange fee or use a machine that does the same thing but takes 10% from the coins as an exchange fee.

ANSWER: Simply throw it away. Only the name of Allah when written in Arabic or ayahs of the Quran in Arabic must be treated with utmost respect, other papers that you mentioned can be thrown away.

QUESTION: Sheykh, whats the ruling on dhikr after prayer? Do we have to sit there or can we stand up after prayer but should not talk before completing the dhikr? Does this affects the rewards for the dhikr?

ANSWER: The best is to say the dhikr right after praying the fard, sitting in the same spot. However, you can say it while standing or walking out.

ANSWER: This is not true! One is ashamed of sinning in front of others as we are ordered to conceal our sins in front of people. As for sinning between us and allah, this is human weakness and May Allah forgive our shortcomings.
