QUESTION: If there is a worker(plumber,cleaner,etc) whom 1. We know very well (or) 2. We dont know, and my mom is alone with me or with my grandmother. ANSWER: If your mum is not alone and your grandma is also present in the house then this is not haram seclusion. If your mum is alone you must not call the worker at prayer times as you must pray all your prayers in the masjid.

QUESTION: I fell off the bike and hurt my legs now Sheikh i want to pray Jummah prayer but I can’t do ruku and sajdah I tried but it’s very hurting my legs can I pray while sitting down on floor should I get less reward.

ANSWER: If you can stand, you must stand during the standing part and you can sit on the chair for ruku and sujood if you cannot do it normally.

QUESTION: I cut up islamic texts with the Name of Allah and his messengers and sahaba names.Now I have read that in Radd al-Muhtar ala al-Durr al-Mukhtar, 5/271, it is said we must erase these names before shredding or burning these texts.How do I erase them, as the only water available is from the sinkand wouldn’t the ink going down the drain be disrespectful.What to do?Note:Most of these are in english.

ANSWER: You don’t need to erase them before shredding it! Also, you don’t need to do this except with Allah’s names or the Quran. The names of the companions or the prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam can be disposed off without shredding or erasing.

QUESTION: While in ihraam, can I touch the kaabah or black stone as it has perfume on it?

ANSWER: You shouldn’t touch the Ka’abah but you can touch and kiss the black stone as this is sunnah However, if you found that there is perfume in it that may have stuck to your hand, you must wash it off immediately

QUESTION: When a person promises Allah that he is not gonna commit that sin again while praying but fall in that sin again so he can repent for it or should fast for 3 days as (kaffarah)

ANSWER: If he took an oath by taking Allah’s name, he must expiate it but if he simply made dua to Allah and was repenting from that sin, without making an oath, there is no expiation.
