I have alot of friends and they are really good masha allah. I always thank Allah for giving me such good friends because they often remind me of Allah and correct my mistakes. But the thing is they wish me on my birthday and give me gifts. I know it is not correct and I do not like it but I don’t know how to stop them. I feel like it will be rude if I tell them not to do and take away the gifts. What should I do?

You may accept their gifts and reply to them kindly but a month or so before your next birthday, tell them to please not give me any gifts and show them the Islamic point of view if they are Muslims.

I am an Indian from Kerala(South India).I am studying right now in Gujarat( it comes in middle of India). So this is a thing that I’ve seen common only in Kerala.There are these four group in kerala. 1. They call themselves ‘Sunii’. But they have this praying to grave , prophets etc. So I clearly understood its against the path of islam 2. they call themselves ‘Mujahid’. They were once called “wahabis” in Kerala. 3. Jamaate- Islaami , this group made by Abul A’ala Moudoodi . 4. Thableegh If a speaker is giving any speech about Islam he will from either one of them.Maybe hardly one or two people I’ve heard their speech who doesnot belong to any group.And I have seen some extremist people in this group has problems inside them against other groups. Like when it comes to marriage people will think twice when marrying to family in other groups even thought they are muslims One thing I’m happy about Islam in the West is I havent seen any problems between the speakers or da’ees. So my Question is What should I do or where should I join . And also it feels like to me that if I am joining any in future it will be like dividing the Ummah right? What should I do.

The mujahideen or I think they call them KAA is the group you should be with.

An unmarried sister of age 25 (covers fully & strives to cover her eyes & be strict in all regards) is sick & may need a job to afford her diet needs. Her friend has a new learning center (Bayyinah Institute) . The sister sees Bayyinah having views against the Sunnah. At this job she would be a cleaning lady with flexible hours that won’t burden her illness & she can avoid men. Should she apply?

You should inform your family the best that you can do that this is haram and it nullifies Islam. Your father is allowed to take a second wife !

I am 27. My parents have been on a groom hunt for long. We get proposals and when people accept us and we are about to take things forward, the opposite party has to back out because of some or the other tragedy in their lives. This happened about 6 times with 6 different proposal families. Everything goes smooth untill a tradegy strikes them and they have to back out or put us hold. Like once this guy lost his job. Another family has a terrible buisness loss. This other family lost their elder son and were in serious shock. Things of these sorts have repeated. All seems well and then they face a loss and we have to cancel the alliance. Please guide as to what could be the problem.

This is all for your own good that Allah turned them away from you. This is a test from Allah and you should make a lot of istighfar and Duaa and Allah will respond to you.

I was told that mushrooms, sheep skin and prawns are makrooh to eat. Is this true? Also can you name me foods that Prophet Muhammad salAllahu alayhi wa sallam did not like and if the foods that He p.b.u.h didn’t like, makes it makrooh to eat?

These are permissible in Islam and such a claim is false and baseless.

Quran 4:3 permits maximum 4 wives (if you can deal justly. If not one). But atheist or critics of Islam say that Muhammad (Pbuh) had married 11. How to reply them?

Biography of the Prophet salla Allahu alahi wa sallam

As a Prophet, he has special merits that Allah had given him. These are exceptions only for Prophets of Allah. There is another verse in the Quran that states this 33:50

There is a shiekh by the name of Muhammed al Yaqoubi who claims to be the descendant of prophet Muhammed SAW. Recently, my uncle has been listening to his lectures and fatwas and feels that what he is teaching is correct however I’ve heard that this sheikh encourages acts such as celebrating the prophet’s (SAW) birthday. Is this shiekh ok to follow and if not how do I convince my uncle not to?

We have an old toaster that was given to us and we are not sure if anyone ever toasted anything haram in it. Are we allowed to use it?

I recently lost my job and having difficulty finding one in my field of study. I am a UofT grad with BBA. Currently, I am working in a factory to help pay rent.
