sheikh I live with my mother in law and I try to keep a balance in our relationship although she has her mood swings and loves picking up fights and commenting thins I dislike infact Ishe would not even reply to my salam despite having reminded her several times…It hurt me such that of late I stopped giving her salam as she wouldn’t reply. Cutting relationships with relatives is totally prohibited, you must at least greet them, and how do you know that they have evil eye on you, this feeling is from shytan.

No problem in keeping the names unless they contain any bad meaning. They should not change their father’s names though. It’s totally prohibited to be called after any name other than your father’s.

In a hadith of Abu Dawud which speaks of the causes of our destruction. It says loving the world and disliking death. Hubbut dunya wa karahiyatul mayt. What is the explanation of loving the world and hating death ? Does loving this dunya means doing haram things because of the love and leaving the obligatory things and being preoccupied with the dunya and disliking death in the way of Allah.
