Sheikh, I heard that when one makes a dua for something, it is good to make it consistently over time. I wanted to know is it the sunnah, when one makes a general dua to repeat it three times (at that given time)? Or was it only specific duas the Prophet -salah Allahu ali wa salam- said thrice?

I want to know that if we want to send salutations on our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), is it necessary to recite durood ibrahim only? Cant we say salutations like “Allahumma salli ala sayidina muhammad, wa ala aalihi muhammad, wa ala ashaabihi muhammad.”
