I was married few months ego.all my gold was given by my father n mother in law.but my husband didnt give me anything.now he is not in a condition to give zakat.so is it must for us to give zakat? I dont want to get burn in jahannam.how should we do?

ANSWER: If the gold is in your possession then you are obliged to give zakat by selling some of it.

Though I’m aware that it is the obligation of a muslim to pay zakah to his/her relatives first but nowadays I find my relatives in better condition than the conditions of muslimsbrothers and sisters who are oppressed or homeless. Can I distribute some of the portion of my zakah among them?

ANSWER: You can give your zakat to any Poor or needy Muslims, preference is for the relatives. If you don’t have any poor relatives, you can give it to any other poor or needy Muslim.

ANSWER: No. Parents are children’s responsibility and they must help them out from their own money, this is the reason why you must not give them your zakat money. If your husband is taking out zakat on his wealth then he can give his parents in law his zakat.

I live in the UK, ive calculated my zakah and given it to my parents. They want to distribute it to the extreme poor ppl in their village in pakistan. But they go pakistan maybe once every year or once every 1.5 years.. i know delaying zakat is sinful. But is my zakah valid or nullfied due to long delay?. ANSWER: Delaying zakat like this is not permissible, and you must pay it on the exact time, unless there is a legitimate necessity for this delay.

I have a relative.she has 6 kanal land but of very low price.her husband passed away and have 4 sons at home.2 of them working earning each 15 thousand the other 2 are not working .1 is married and have a family as well.they have sisters but all are married except 1 …they pass the month with difficulty. ANSWER: If they are Muslims and classified by others to be poor or needy and they are unable to complete the month with the earnings they have, you can give them from zakat.

My Mother put her house for sale on january 2018 and sold the house on February 2018 and kept the money. She now lives with me. She pays her regular zakah every Ramadan. So my question is: does she pay the zakah on the money she got from her house this Ramadan or the next year´s Ramadan?

ANSWER: You must give zakat on the gold which is above 85 grams of gold. You give 2.5% on any cash you have had in your possession for over one lunar year whether it is yours or it is a loan!

I have two sons who are still small(not reached age of puberty). If I take few ornaments of gold from my Jewellery and put it aside in the locker for their future studies or marriage, and I don’t use it at all, then do I have to pay zakath for the same?
