ANSWER: If such content of a file is haram or what they teach is haram or such content is copyright protected yet you sell violated courses or videos like this, the income is haram.

QUESTION: I (FEMALE) live in USA and want to pursue higher education in medical field which is quite expensive. And my family is not that well off. Student loans charge 15% interest…and interest is haram. What should I do? If I take a student loan, will everything after that, including my education and job be considered haram?

ANSWER: This is totally prohibited and one of the major sins in Islam for which Allah has waged a war against someone who deals in riba. It is very simple: If you can’t afford it, don’t do it!

QUESTION: I got a job offer at a bank as a software developer, not as a banker, will I be sinful if I develop programs that may or may not be used by the bank for Riba-based operations ? In general, am I liable for programs I develop that CAN be used for wrong but are intended for good ?

QUESTION: We knw brokery is permssbl.Bt got confused in an ans of islamqa,”If the broker is working for one of the two parties to the transaction, it is not permissible for him to make a deal with the other party to increase or lower the price”.I didn’t understand.If a broker tells me about a car costing 10M nd I hv to give him 500$ over that as comission.Can I tell him to bargain with owner to make it 9M?

ANSWER: It is not permissible to take a commission when you are working for one of the two parties as this is conflict of interest and you would be accepting a bribe and not a commission.

QUESTION: I am a student who got a trainee job. My work is not linked with anyone and I get tasks to train myself. The contract says to do 8 hours per day on office. The work is very easy for me and I finish it in 1-2 hours then I am free for the day having nothing to do and sit free all day. If I complete my tasks early or from home for the day and have nothing to do, is my income haram if i leave earlier.

ANSWER: If the work is task based then you can leave but if its stipulated in your contract that you must stay for the whole session then you can’t go home until the time is up
