Sheikh it is mentioned that if one prays for forgiveness and gives charity for the dead their punishment in the grave is lessened. Does it mean that it is reduced for time being or it can be totally stopped due to duas and charities?

ANSWER: It’s not permissible to take or keep pictures of the deceased. There is no problem in taking photos of a cemetery or a graveyard.

I have heard a hadith that status of a deceased person is elevated by praying of his son. In this regard what we have to pray. As my father has passed 4 years back, I just want to know what i have to do Or pray, so that my fathe’s status gets elevated and his sins be forgiven. I am his daughter. And is this only for sons? ANSWER: The sunnah is to give salam whenever you enter a graveyard and not when passing by from the outside.

One man in our community has bought a grave in a public graveyard for him. Also he sometimes go there and make dua for him standing before his future grave. Is this permissible? Also in general just buying a place for grave in public graveyard before death permissible?
