What is the ruling on females applying perfumes?

ANSWER: No problem in this, providing its only in their houses, in front of their husband, mahrams and other women. It is totally prohibited for women to wear perfume and go out where non mahram men can smell them. This is a major sin.

Is actuary halal since I’ve read that it doesn’t deal with interest, but rather quantifying risks involved in business and investment? And can you explain whether it is halal to work in insurance companies?

ANSWER: It is totally prohibited to work for conventional commercial insurance companies as it involves two major sins: Riba and Gambling and working there would be collaborating and facilitating evil and the salary would be haram as well.

Sheikh,yesterday I asked my mom how to know a girl before marriage(i.e the way she talks or responds, her attitude etc.)she told me that after engagement we go out together,talk and she called it courtship, she said if the girl finds something wrong in the boy or the boy finds something wrong in the girl, the wedding can be cancelled before it is performed. Is this allowed in Islam

ANSWER: This is absolutely prohibited in Islam. Courtship is not part of Islam, engagement does not make her halal for you to hang out with as she’s still your non mahram untill the marriage.

I heard that sleeping under a pillar is not allowed. Like in my house exactly over my bed is a half pillar in the roof. Shall i change bed position?

ANSWER: This is baseless, you can sleep where ever you want.

Are we allowed to sit on dangerous rides such as roller coasters or do adventurous thrill like bungee jumping or sky diving?

ANSWER: In case it is safe and no haram could occur, then no problem in this. Bungee jumping and sky diving is dangerous and not called for and hence I don’t believe that it is permissible.
