If my husband tells me to read dua (morning and evening dua) or read Qur’an and if I don’t do it he will not talk to me, so I do it am I still getting the reward of reading the dua or the Qur’an?

I feel distressed these days. Small charities are not helping. I want to give away large lumpsum amount specially for my lord to forgive me and my deceased father and wipe away my sins and grant me peace and contentment. What is the best way to give charity?
