Is it permissible for zakat to be given to poor families who requested donation to pay for medication, an operation, or jannazah as they could not afford to pay for them. At the time of these requests I made the intention that my donation was from my zakat al mal.

As long as they are not for sale, there is no zakat on them. However, if they are on rent, the zakat is on the money if it reaches nisab and a lunar year passes with it in your possession.

I have heard that the messanger of Allah Sallahu’alalaiwasalam made the dua asking Allah to grant the companion ‘ibn ‘abbas understand of deen. ‘ibn ‘abbas mayAllah bepleasedwithhim was someone who had a lot of knowledge of the deen yet from what I have heard he had certain interpretations of certain ayahs that the majority did not take.how can I understand that in the light of the dua mentioned?

It is permissible if you don’t respect the same date every year thus making it an eid.

We have to give one Sa of food (Approx 2.5 Kg to 3 Kg). But when i had measured rice with my own hand (4 Mud) it’s only comes to one kilogram , so should i to give what is measured by my hand (1Kg)or i have to follow what the Scholars said (between 2.5Kg – 3Kg).

I paid my zakat ul fitr by myself and for myself only even though my father is the head of the household. The reason i did this is bcause he does not pray and has cursed the deen on three or four occasions and therefore if i let him pay it on my behalf i was not sure if it was valid or accepted. I consider him to be a definite kaafir. Is what i did correct? And what should my mother and sister do? —

Sheikh is it ok for me to give my Zakat-Al Fitr to a family of 4 who are Asylum Seekers in UK. They are on benefits as they are not allowed to work. They seem to live well on benefits. is it still ok for me to give them a sack of rice as Zakah-Al Fitr on behalf of myself and my family to them?
