I am asking a question on behalf of my wife, over the years she has missed 4-5 on average days of ramadan due to menstruations. She has not fasted on those missed days over the years. Now the question is does she has to fast again all those missed days or she has to give fidya. Also can you explain the rule of fidya

I am a culprit of having missed a total of 4 fasts over the last couple of years due to falling into desire and being intimate with my wife during the day. May Allah forgive me.
