I am a muslim who does not believe in sects however the sunni sect am not so sure if its based on the sunnah completely and if i get a marriage proposal from a sunni man should i refuse it on the basis that he is sunni

Sunni is a big umbrella that has many sect under it which may include kafir sects. The term “Sunni” is used with anyone who is not shia. However, even grave worshippers are called Sunni!

One should choose someone with sound Aqeedah! Marrying such a person is not advisable.

My mother gives me bottle of water everyday asking me to drink and bathe a little from it. She says she recited surah Bakarah and other duas into it. I have my suspicion. Should I drink it. I’m currently just putting the water in the plants as I’m scared.

There is no harm in drinking and bathing with water which Quran is recited over.

Dear Sheikh, how do I explain to my parents that they cannot even see my future Wife until she is considered a mahram to my male family members eg Father and Brother? I was asked by my younger Sister and Mother to bring her home and introduce her to them as they also wanted to see how she looked like. She is a student of knowledge by the way.

Your mother and sister can visit her. It is totally prohibited for you to bring her or even to communicate with her before getting married, let alone have your male members see her! Tell them that this is the ruling of Allah, whether they like it or not!

Sheikh if someone’s wife is coming on visit visa and she enter Makkah (as his husband is resident of Makkah) without niyat of umrah and they want to perform next day will it be ok to go to nearest meeqat or there is any restrictions,if not what should we do because some of them they are saying it is must. Because the plan was to do umrah after 2 or 3 days please guide us.

is it mandatory to take shower after mating with the husband or is it permissible to make wudu and sleep get up n take shower. or is that way wrong or harms? especially for those who have been once upon a time affected with black magic. kindly explain

It is sunnah to make wudhu and sleep and take ghusul when one wakes up providing one doesn’t miss a prayer.

Sheikh, Are there any authentic or weak narrations, that confirm Ali Ibn Abi Talib (May Allah be pleased with him) was born in the Ka’aba.

With a group of sisters I am organising an event to raise money for a new mosque in the Netherlands. One of the sisters suggested that we can hire people who dress like disney or cartoon figures (like spiderman, princess, etc.) to entertain the kids. Is this allowed and if so which figures would be allowed?

I want to ask if there is any hadith regarding the sin of raping a girl by force that how is it if they highlight such a news on all media saying that it is to condemn the sinner…?

Rape is not done except by force! It is a heinous crime punished in Islam by flogging or stoning to death!

Somebody forwarded me this hadith: Whoever says this once, then for the next 1000 days the angels will be busy writing the reward for him: “Jazaa Allahu ‘anna muhammadan maa huwa ahluhu.” Recorded in Tabraani on the authority of Ibn Abbas. Is this authentic?
