QUESTION: Is it permissible for part of a masjid (the ladies area) to have an ar Question in Detail: There’s a Masjid with 3 floors and the weddings are usually on the first floor and sometimes it is used for friday prayers, funerals, and weddings. The money given for renting the wedding events is used for the masjid which is why people think it’s okay. Some also claim that it is the same as a home where you pray and also play music or have parties. So my question is, is it permissible?

ANSWER: It is not permissible to hire regular places for weddings with music or other haram practices, let alone an area in the masjid. This is outrageous.
