I wanted to ask for advise. Is it ok to be involved with the student loans in UK. The interest rate has now turned into blatant Usury because you have to pay 3% interest above inflation. Is it ok to still take out a student loan and if it’s not then what should we do when our parents threaten to throw us out and not support us because we don’t want to get involved with interest.

Two friends of mine (one female and one male) are seeing each other, they have plans to getting married as soon as my (male) friend graduates and gets estabilished.They suddenly come to know that the Girlfriend and Boyfriend relationship is strictly forbidden. By definition, a major sin is any sin that Allah has cursed those doing it, threatened them with hellfire or arranged a prescribed punishment in this world for such a sin.

If we do not celebrate birthday but some friends wish the birthday person (like bday wishes by sms etc) or by giving gifts to that person, is it permissible to do so? Or should we avoid the birthday wishes and gifts as well?

You should thank them and tell them that in Islam, it is not permissible to celebrate birthdays. However, it is permissible to accept their gifts as the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam used to accept gifts.
