Buying from the disbelievers is permissible as the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam and his companions used to deal with the Jews, Persians and the Romans. However, it is best for a Muslim not to buy from them if there is an alternative.

What is the ruling on lying to cover up one’s past sins? Will he be punished for lying in this case or considered a faasiq?

One must conceal his past sins but avoid lying.

This question is regarding astrology, a man used to read about astrology before Islam and believed that some star signs apply to some people, now Alhamdulilah he has studied aqeedah and realised this is shirk and falsehood but has some doubts when communicating with people and he refers their personality to a star sign, what is the ruling regarding this?
