QUESTION: I am 47 years old. I always have intention to keep my missed fast later on, but I keep forgetting and next Ramadan comes. How do I replaced my fast all the previous year and now it’s getting harder to replace!

ANSWER: You are sinful for delaying to make them up and must make them up now when obstacles do not exist. You can combine them to Sunnah fasts for double the reward by fasting every Monday and Thursday

ANSWER: Finish it in Ramadan and you can again start reciting in Makkah as the sunnah is to complete reciting the whole Quran every month!

QUESTION: How should muslims living in non muslim countries determine their Eid? There’s no Islamic centers or ulama or anyone who is responsible for Muslims here. Should they look at the moon or follow Saudi Arabia, or closest Muslim country?

QUESTION: If a person has upcoming remaining 50% payment of his car, which is a big amount, can he deduct that amount from the calculation of his Zakat money?

QUESTION: The qunoot being recited by Imam is too long to a point where I can feel the stress on my hands and I’m just hoping he finishes. I have no problem with long qunoot if my hands were on my chest. Is it less rewarding though to keep hands on the chest while qunoot is being recited by Imam?

ANSWER: No problem in putting it on your chest as it is not mandatory and the length of the duaa they are making it is not from the sunnah either !

QUESTION: It was time to break fast and I was preparing my water and without thinking started drinking before making my intention to break my fast. I swallowed once before realizing and spit out the remaining water. I verbalized my intention and drank water. Is my fasting from the day still valid?

ANSWER: There’s no Verbal intention before breaking the fast as this is an innovation Once the sun sets and the athan is called, you simply break the fast by saying bismillah

QUESTION: A person lives in non Muslim country and no Muslim authority, and rely on apps for timing. They used Turkish calculation but changed to UmmAlQura few weeks ago. Today they woke up very thirsty 1 min after Fajr entered, so they changed calculation to Turkish and it showed that it’s 2 min until Farj so they drank water. Are they playing with religion?

QUESTION: Hounarable sheikh,if I lead the prayer here,they will stipulate that I have to make dua. In this case can I just do as a bare minimum that I rasie my hands and recite the adhkar of prayer laillaha illahu wahdahu…. loudly or make a dua or two if I am forced to?

ANSWER: It is not permissible to participate with them in such an innovation Either they accept you as you are by following the sunnah or you don’t lead them in prayer.

QUESTION: Is it true that we should not give zakat if he/she has gold though they are very poor. Kindly explain this.

ANSWER: If they are poor and the amount of gold is minimum which women usually need to adorn themselves with, we don’t need to expect them to sell their gold or their clothes before giving them zakat!
