ANSWER: No. This is not permissible because it’s collaborating and assisting in evil and haram.

My mother is non muslim American and becomes upset when i do not send gifts and wish her happy holidays on non muslim holidays. Is it permissible to send her gifts to thank Her for being my mother and show i love her throughout the year not on the certain non muslim holidays and how should i explain this to her

ANSWER: It is not permissible to send her such gifts on such kafir occasions. Send her gifts all year round.

I tend to take too much time to perform my salah (10-15minutes for 2rakat prayer and 15-30 minutes for 4 rakat). I tend to slow my recitation in salah so that I feel focused and also I have less ability to be attentive generally(I’m a non arab). I’m I doing anything wrong by extending my prayer time whereas usually people finish their salah within 5-10 minutes?

ANSWER: This is your time with Allah. If this won’t lead you to OCD and making you exaggerate things out of its proportion, then this is fine.

In my area where I’m living, there is a mosque (along with a madrasa in it’s compound).From the mosque’s mic (through which the adhan is given),they provide announcement of missing child, announcement of calling for funeral prayer,announcement of deaths,when people die living around the mosque, announcement of Eid day and Eid prayer time if the following day is Eid.is using mosque this way right?

Shaikh I have been in a habit of masturbation for several years even after marriage and Im unable to stop even after reading all the fatwas on islamqa. Recently I did something even worse I tried to seduce my house maide I did not commit zina but I was very close. Please help me the guilt is choking me I have kids i feel ashamed and helpless.

My question is on my marriage my parents and in laws gave me gold which is approx more than 7 and half tola that means zakaat is mandatory on me but i am a house wife and have no source of income so how can i pay zakaat? And to calculate the total amount of zakaat which rate will be considered the one on which i purchase the gold or the current rate of the gold?

ANSWER: 2.5% zakat must be paid on the current selling price. If you don’t have money to pay the zakat, you must sell some of the gold and must pay the zakat on time as this is mandatory. Your husband can also pay zakat on it on your behalf and with your prior permission.

My friend was telling me that we can go to dargah and when I refused he asked me for reference in Quran and hadeeth that says we should not go to dargah. When I showed him your videos of dargah from YouTube he said you may be unauthentic as many Maulanas and sheikhs are unauthentic. I said him my relative know Quran and hadeeths well and they said to listen to you than too he was not listening.

ANSWER: You have done your job by advising him. If he persists in his corrupt beliefs and aqeedah, you should keep distance from him as he is bad news and not a good person to be friends with.

If someone does shirk and kufr…all good deeds will be erased when he is alive like suddenly at the moment he did or because he didn’t repent and died his good deeds will be erased?

ANSWER: When a person does shirk or kufr, all of his good deeds are erased. If he dies without reverting to Islam and repenting, he will abide in hell for eternity. If he repents and accepts Islam before he dies, all of his good deeds would be restored.

Sheikh….suppose i told to my relatives that i will have dinner with them….but my friends pressurized me to have dinner with them and i had dinner with my friends…. but if i informed the relatives that i am have having dinner with my friends…did i lie in the first place to my relatives because i couldnt keep my word.
