Remember when you told me that I will be rewarded for being a one man ummah, yeah.. about that… Now I fear I will be punished for being one man ummah. I don’t feel much support from my _akhi_. There’s so much fitnah! When I go outside, it’s pretty much impossible to not أخطأ. People at school make me mad. The level of _fasad_ in my school is outrageous! Even when I try hard to not أخطأ, I still fall into it. Whether it’s at المدرسة, or سوبر ماركت. Doesn’t matter. The Islamic duties that are incumbent on me are seriously مؤكدا لي. Being a one man ummah is too tough. There’s so much to focus on. All I want is to have khushoo in salah. I’m happy Allah is testing me but I need khushoo. Shaykh, there’s SO much to do. And I fail at pretty much everything. I’ve been trying to get it straight the last 11 months but I failed -as usual. I don’t doubt Allah’s mercy-0 rather, I doubt my ability to be a decent Muslim. It makes me seriously. أقول فقط هذه الاشياء لك.. الغضب في نفسي.

Since I have started practicing Islam, I have lost many of my friends. I still have 2,3 good friends but they are mostly busy. None of my classmates follow Islam strictly; they cheat, lie, backbite etc. So now I don’t go outside and hang out with friends and it has made me very anti social and an introvert. I have lost self-esteem. Is it a good thing or a bad thing? What should I do to gain confidence?

You should make new friends who are committed to religion, you can start frequenting the masjid, attend lectures and meet new brothers that follow the deen and make friends with them.

What takes precedence over between saving the Izzah of a woman and saving life? If someone becomes a victim of it, what will she do? Can she commit suicide to save her izzah or does saving her life takes precedence over that?

If a woman was about to be raped, she can’t commit suicide and must fight as much as possible. Preserving her life is more important.

I have a muslim friend who does drugs and alcohol. Should I stay with her for the sake of guiding her or abandon her because of the gravity of what she’s doing ? Should I meet her at all?

You must not be with her at all when she is doing it or when intoxicated. If you see her to advise her when she is sober and alert, this is permissible. If this doesn’t do her any good, cut her off and leave her as she is bad news.

As’salam alikum, I love Allah (swt) more than anything else, but i don’t know from 1 year or may be less.. when ever i see Islamic things or pictures …there a sound in my heart of disrespect to it… which is not in my control…like when reading Quran,i feel like splitting on it..then i immediately recite “auzibillahplease help me i want to get rid of it… i dnt want to Allah swt to be away frm me coz of this.

Hacking is not permissible for you to do. It is like stealing. If you are forced to get this software, you can buy a copy of it in the market and you wouldn’t be sinning by doing this as you are buying a product from the market. And Allah knows best

If a muslim family bought a house with interest, but they weren’t practising at that time, and were’t completely aware of its prohibition, should they continue living in it and try to pay it off, or strive to get out of it

It is permissible to continue to live in it but if a person can avoid the interest remaining or to reduce it by paying it ahead of time, this is best. And Allah knows best

Is it allowed to live in a house that is bought on riba, or is currently being paid in Riba?

I get a car on lease and pay £1,000 no refundable deposit and £200 per month for 24 months and give the car back. Is this under Riba?

It appears to me that this is a normal leasing or renting for a period of 24 months. There doesn’t seem anything wrong in it as you are not buying the car but only leasing it. And Allah knows best

In India all the banks are interest based. We have two options regarding the interest. 1. Let the bank take the interest . 2. Take interest from the Bank and help Muslims (relatives and needy persons) in need without expecting a reward.
