It is permissible to continue to live in it but if a person can avoid the interest remaining or to reduce it by paying it ahead of time, this is best.

If a muslim family bought a house with interest, but they weren’t practising at that time, and were’t completely aware of its prohibition, should they continue living in it and try to pay it off, or strive to get out of it
