I’m a convert from Europe married to a Saudi Arabian man. I am pregnant now and we had a big argue about the babies name, does it have to be the fathers name? And his grandfathers name? And then the great grandfather? And is it now allowed to have both last names ? Like the mothers name and the fathers? I would appreciate your help sooo much.. i really don’t know what to do..

ANSWER: The name must be followed by father’s name and if required grandfather’s name. The Mother’s name is not included in Islam with a person’s name at all. Some say only children born out of wedlock are called after their mothers!

Do parents have to tell their children about why they don’t let them for example play a specific game or watch a specific cartoon?

ANSWER: No, they don’t HAVE to tell. However, it is best to explain it to them so that they can comply willingly instead of doing it without being convinced.

ANSWER: Give your first name as his/her second name and your surname as his/her last name.

Can we name new born baby boy as MUHAMMAD only..?? Because some people say that we must add another name like MUHAMMAD Umer or MUHAMMAD Salman etc…

ANSWER: What they say is absolutely baseless. No problem in keeping the name Mohammed only and one must only keep one name and not two names.

My daughter is 14 and sometimes she asks questions about sex. I found it a bit embarrassing because in her age I did not dare to ask such questions for my parents. I know that nowadays kids are different but I found it uncomfortable. do I need to ask to stop her to ask such questions or do I need to give the answers?

ANSWER: You need to inform her in an Islamic fashion and in a polite way or she will learn it from her friends and internet!

My question is regarding a friend who has confusion on naming children,she wishes to name her child with the name of both the parents,as in she wants to include her own name along with the name of the child and husband is this permissible?

ANSWER: This is absolutely not permissible. The child must only be given his father’s name as the second name. The child is only allowed to have the name of the mother if he’s illegitimate!

Pls guide me in upbringing the children who throw tauntrams n does dangerous things like what a child does at age 3 n I fear she may fall n hurt herself n sometimes she puts tiny things into her mouth so I’m afraid to beat her or to scold but I shout at her and I fear that may Affect her psychologically.

ANSWER: Shouting doesn’t work. Sometimes a little spank over dangerous things can be accepted as in the case when the child insists on putting metal objects in the electricity socket. Clear the room from anything dangerous and try to give them love and in Sha Allah He will protect them.

What does Quran and hadees says about special children.i have an autistic son. I have been working as a volunteer with kids in need.Autistic kids have the tendency of hitting kicking and shouting. At times it is unbearable to take this kind of aggression even from my own child.I am not sure why i do this. Am i doing it because people praise me or doing it for the sake of Allah.

I was wondering if I take my kids to a party where they play music with some kufr lyrics. I will not let them enjoy and dance and explain not to enjoy in their heads. But if they end up enjoying it in their heads will I become kaafir because I shouldn’t have taken them to the party in the first place.
