Is it compulsory to recite durood in dua or is it optional? I read somewhere that older Muslim nations (followers of previous Prophets) were not allowed to supplicate directly to Allah, rather they had to tell their Prophets their supplication and the Prophets would make dua for them. Is it true?

If the Duaa is general and it is not prescribed to is, it is part of the sunnah to offer salutation to the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam. Otherwise, it will be blocked. In Salah, whether in sujood or elsewhere, one should ask Allah straight ahead!

Say ithkar is lighter on the tongue and heavy on the scales. What if one is constantly say the ithkar in their heart all the times? Is the rewards still the same or you must whisper them with your lips moving?.

I am wondering about what exactly to say after each prayer. Do I say “Subhanallah” 33 times, “Alhamdulillah” 33 times, “Allahu Akbar” 33 times, and then “La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulk wa lahul hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shai’in qadir”?

Wa alaikum salaam, Allah loves it when we nag and beg Him for something that we want. So, it’s best if you ask for it particularly. If you rush things with humans, they wouldn’t do that for you. Allah is greater than all!
