For reading subhanallah,alahamdulillah and allah o akbar i was using the three compartments in each finger.but the salafi scholar in pune india reportedly told women and memn in thier gathering that one should do this on the fingertip only.the ibn maja hadith is authentic according to them as the fingertips will testify on the day of judgement.i have discontinued my previous practise and i am using my fingertips by using my thumb on each fingertip thrice.suppose i do this orally will it be acceptable as sunnah.please clarify. may allah certainly bless you for your correct guidance.

The most authentic opinion is that you have to count by bringing each finger into your palm. (It’s like when you count on math with your fingers!) however, if one counts in a different way, this is permissible.

Are we allowed to ask for a specific person in marriage in dua? Like if u think they are right for you and you see a potential of a husband in them ? (I am a sister) Is that allowed? Or will Allah at the end of the day grant you the one he wrote anyways ? Sometimes I feel like I will never get married.

When asking Allah something that you want but you can’t afford, how should you ask it from Him? For example some certain laptop. You should say “Oh Allah give me this certain kind of laptop”, or “Oh Allah make me have this certain kind of laptop”? (A laptop is a minor thing we can ask from Allah but I took as an example to better know what I am asking.)

You can ask Allah whatever you want – there isn’t anything in specific. Praise Allah and then offer salutation to the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam and then ask Allah for whatever you want.

The best time to make dua is after thashahud before saying salam to end the salah. But I am not so good in Arabic. My question is, can I say my dua in English or any other language?

I recently lost my job and having difficulty finding one in my field of study. I am a UofT grad with BBA. Currently, I am working in a factory to help pay rent.
