Points possessed through ATM cards or debit cards are prohibited and part of usury! Points acquired through credit card is halal providing you are not paying any interest to the card company!

I asked one of my hindu childhood friend in India,who is very sincere and honest person in world aspects. he follows his hindu religion sincerely and don’t like to cheat anyone. I told him as riba is haram for muslims,can you buy a flat with or without down payments for 20yrs under your name.If your bank is charging monthly instalments rs 10,000 /month with interest,at what price you will lease your flat. He said i will give you for same bank instalments period of 20yrs but as lease agreement @rs13000 per month and once my flat instalments are over from bank,he will register the flat in my name free of cost because he will be taking rs 3000 profit from me every month for 20yrs. Now even after 20 yrs he does not register the flat in my name,i wont be able to do anything but in this way,can i save my self from riba. We are also ready to make a side contract that after 20yrs instalments is over,he will give the flat to me with whatever transfer charges applied by the government,which i have to bear. In case if making a side contract for future property transfer, can this clause put me in riba,if yes i don’t want to make side contract and leave it on his will,if he will transfer the flat in my name or not after 20yrs. If on the above option,riba is still valid,plz let me know what is the other way out as my hindu friend is ready to help me. In india many muslims and non Muslims buy property via bank and lease for 11 month lease contract and once 11months is completed the landlord may or maynot renew the flat and again one has to look for another flat,which consumes lot of time and energy. So to save this 11month lease contract,i want to take it for 20yrs lease and wish to take it via my hindu friend as i find him better trust worthy then my Muslim friends,plz guide.

This deal is not permissible and it is RIBA based for him and it is also prohibited for you as there are two deals in one; leasing and buying!

My bank is offering me cash back for simply using my debit card, I can receive 1% of the money I spend using my debit card every month. This is the money from my wages not credit from the bank. I do not receive interest for the money in my accounts, the money my monthly wage only. I wanted to know is it permissible for me to accept the cash back?

This is not permissible as the money in your debit card is actually a loan to the card company and you are getting it back when you buy things with It! The cash they are giving you back is interest money!

i am the only revert in my entire non muslim family who are hindus and they have no intention of accepting islam whatsoever, can i give money (interest on the savings in bank) to my relatives?

This is permissible.

I have two questions; 1. According to Sheikh Yusuf Qardhawi, a muslim living in North America can buy a house for personal use using Riba based financing if there is a “Dharoorah”. Please give your opinion on this. 2. There is a prevalent thought that one can divide his wealth amongst his heirs according to Islamic inheritance law during his lifetime to avoid any dispute and to save his heirs the difficulty involved in managing the inheritance division. Is this permissible or not?
