Sheikh Assim i have a question.My family in sha allah will slaughter a cow and we divided with seven portion.my brother intended to do aqeeqah at the same time which he take two portion for him.It is permissible to do aqeeqah and udhiyah together.please explain.

Ya Sheikh! My brother wants to have his son’s Aqeeqah in my walimah. He’s going to pay for the sacrifice and I’m going to pay for the rest of the feast. It is permissible to offer a cow, however you will have to offer 2 for a boy and 1 for a girl. It would be more economic and closer to the sunnah to slaughter two sheep or goats.

Can a boy’s aqiqah be 2 goats, 2 cows, 1 goat + 1 sheep, 1 sheep + 1 cow (so the meat will be enough for guests), 2 camels, or any other combination?

we had got 2 goats for sacrificing for eid ul adha. One of the goat got bitten by snake and died.We had bought another one and sacrificed in its place.My question is does this mean anything or its just that Allah had decided the animal’s death in such a way? I feel its wrong to interpret anything like something wrong might happen to family.
